Dean Shepard is the Chief Revenue Officer & Managing Partner of Picton Mahoney Asset Management. He is responsible for Industry Leadership, Corporate Development, C-Suite Client Relations and Collaboration, and is an investment industry veteran with over 25 years’ experience. Dean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia and is a CFA charterholder.

Taras has industry experience since 1999, and has held senior institutional positions at some of Canada’s most prominent asset management firms. As Managing Director of Institutional Business, Taras is responsible for serving our
institutional clients with distinction while growing our institutional presence on a global scale. Taras graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Economics degree and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh.

Partner and Managing Director, Head of Retail Business
Mike heads up the retail business at Picton Mahoney Asset Management. Prior to joining the firm, his financial services experience spans both large and boutique Canadian, U.S., and international wealth management firms. Mike has an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario. Mike also has achieved both the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. As an industry advocate, Mike currently sits on the National Conference Board of the Money Management Institute and contributes to hosting annual engagement forums that bring together the asset management and advisory communities in the pursuit of continuous improvement of products and services to investors.

Andrew comes to Picton Mahoney Asset Management (PMAM) with over a decade of industry experience. Prior to joining PMAM, Andrew served in various product management roles at Sentry Investments, 1832 Asset Management, and Redwood Asset Management. Andrew has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and has a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (Finance) from the University of Western Ontario.

Prior to joining us, Reed was with TD Securities, serving as Vice President on the firm’s Institutional Equity Sales Desk in New York. Reed holds a MA (Hons.) in Management & Financial Economics from the University of St. Andrews.

Katie joined Picton Mahoney Asset Management in early 2022 as National Accounts Associate. Prior to joining us, she worked with Canaccord Genuity as an Investment Advisor. Katie has also demonstrated a proven track record of success across a diverse range of professional fields, including Actuarial Consulting, Aerospace Engineering, and Sustainable Architecture. She studied Business Management and Arts at the University of British Columbia, and carries a Business Operations Management Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Connor Haslip is a member of the Institutional team at Picton Mahoney Asset Management, focusing on business development and servicing for Canadian Endowments and Foundations. He has helped bring forward a number of initiatives to better serve PMAM’s existing client base, build out product infrastructure, and expand the institutional reach of the firm. Connor held a role
on the firm’s software development team, making a transition in 2015 to bring a new perspective and skillset to the Institutional Business team. Connor graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences degree in Software Engineering.

Andrew has over five years of investment experience including roles as an Investment Analyst at Manulife Financial, an Associate in CIBC’s Graduate Rotational Program and most recently as a Business Development Associate for CIBC Asset Management. Currently, Andrew services the institutional client base at Picton Mahoney Asset Management and contributes to the growth of the firm’s institutional asset base. Andrew has an MBA and Honours Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, is a CFA charterholder and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.

Randy joined Picton Mahoney Asset Management in the fall of 2017 as an Inside Sales Associate. Prior to joining PMAM, Randy spent 17 years at Invesco Canada, serving as a Business Development Manager for 13 of those years. He was also a Marketing Associate at TD Waterhouse Financial Planning. Randy holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Trent University, and is a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM®).

In his last role, David was an Investment Advisor at Global Maxfin Capital. Prior to that, he held the role of Associate Investment Advisor at Hollis Wealth, Global Wealth Management, Scotiabank. David holds an Honours Bachelor of Finance from York University, and is an IIROC Platform Advisor.

Aaron has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, beginning with GT Global in 1994, and including eight years at Synergy Asset Management and four years at Invesco. Aaron brings unique insight to building a robust advisory practice, drawing on his extensive experience in marketing, institutional services, and national accounts. Given his extensive background in asset management, Aaron is adept at partnering with advisors to find the best solutions for meeting their clients’ needs for wealth generation and protection.

Scott is a Partner and Vice President at Picton Mahoney Asset Management. Drawing on over two decades of experience in the industry and Picton Mahoney’s portfolio construction and authentic hedge expertise, Scott works with advisors to implement the best solutions for protecting and growing client wealth. Scott began his investment career at Franklin Templeton Investments in 1995 where he worked in client services, dealer services, and various sales roles before becoming Regional Vice President, Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Western Ontario and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®).

Pawan joined Picton Mahoney Asset Management in November 2021 after holding multiple roles within the BlackRock organization (in Australia and Canada). He led the portfolio consulting services function within Blackrock's Canadian iShares business, and prior to that, he was a portfolio manager in the Multi-Asset Strategies team within Blackrock's Australian business. Pawan graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Engineering with majors in Management, Investment Finance and Information Technology. Pawan holds the Financial Risk Manager designation and is also a CFA charterholder.
